Sandro Mairata
Sandro Mairata has been a film critic for the newspaper La República, where he published a weekly column between 2021 and 2024. He hosted the film review program CINENCIERRO (2022-2024), co-founded the website Cinensayo in 2017, and runs the review site Reflektor, where he publishes weekly reviews. He contributes to the Relatto website (Colombia) and his reviews are republished in the newspaper La Nación (Venezuela). He currently co-hosts the cultural podcast “Nada Que Ver” for the investigative journalism website El Foco.
He holds an MS in journalism from Columbia University thanks to a Fulbright scholarship and is a fellow of the Scripps Foundation. He was twice awarded a scholarship from the Gabo Foundation and has been anthologized in “Lo mejor del periodismo de América Latina Vol. II” (The Best of Latin American Journalism Vol. II) (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2010).
