Steve Hunsicker is the Executive Producer of "Filmed in Peru," where he manages the festival’s communications, website, and logistics. His connection to Peru runs deep—he has traveled to the country more than 20 times, building relationships with filmmakers and communities that continue to inspire the festival’s mission.
In 2024, Steve released his first feature film, The Gringa and the Musician, serving as Executive Producer while also shooting much of the film’s footage and interviews, bringing a personal eye to its story.
He is also the Executive Producer of "Peruanos en el Mundo," a weekly travel series that has been on the air since 2015 and celebrates the lives of Peruvians around the globe. His festival experience includes serving as co-manager of the 2024 OUTshine LGBTQ Film Festival in Miami and, most recently, curating Peruvian films for the Miami Film Festival in 2025.
In addition, Steve has produced three short films, including two created for the “Lillian Carter Awards,” hosted by former President Jimmy Carter, and another about disabled veterans learning to SCUBA dive.
Earlier in his career, Steve was Executive News Director at WPEC (CBS) in West Palm Beach and News Director at WTVC (ABC) in Chattanooga, overseeing news and documentary programming. A licensed drone pilot, he often blends technical innovation with his passion for storytelling.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
